When debating who the basketball GOAT is, LeBron James vs Michael Jordan is the most common comparison. However, it’s time we put an end to said debate

One of the most talked-about topics in NBA circles revolves around one burning question; who is the greatest player of all time (“GOAT”)?

Fans, analysts, players and coaches alike, have all debated this topic for decades, basically since the NBA first came into being. But in today’s GOAT debates, two players are mentioned more than anyone else and that is LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan.

MJ has been the consensus GOAT pretty much since he retired for the second time in 1998 but over the last three to five years, LeBron has gradually been adding to his resume and thus, closing the gap on “His Airness” in these debates.

But why are these debates even taken seriously, especially when there are so many insurmountable “what ifs” and hypothetical obstacles that will forever prevent us from reaching an emphatic conclusion?
