7. Julius Randle

The Nets are in a fairly unique position right now. No, not because they have so much money to use this offseason, but because they have yet to figure out what kind of team they want to be. This means pretty much any player could fit in their system at the moment, which is why Brooklyn should seriously consider Julius Randle.

Randle isn’t as flashy as some of the other names on this list, but he doesn’t have to be. The ideal plan would be landing a household name AND adding Randle to the squad. With the very foggy future for the New Orleans Pelicans and their roster, there’s a good chance the Nets could get Randle away from the Pelicans, and give themselves a new, very good, starting power forward.

The 2018-19 regular season was a breakout one for Randle, who thrived in the absence of Anthony Davis. Randle’s 21.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game will likely entice a number of teams, but the Nets make a lot of sense. Randle will bring in a consistent scorer who can crash the boards and find open teammates from inside the paint. He would make a great second option on a team that already has good role players.

It’s even possible that Randle signs for less than a max deal. However, if he does want max money, or even close to it, Brooklyn is one team that could afford to do it, while still knowing they can sign their next franchise player in the process.
