1. Kevin Durant

There is arguably no better player in the NBA than Kevin Durant. Right now though, there is arguably no bigger risk in free agency than Durant. The Golden State Warriors star will likely miss months in order to recover from a right Achilles injury. This means teams will be signing a player who may not take the court for them until midway-late in the 2019-20 season if recovery goes will. However, the Nets are a team in a position to take that risk.

When Durant is healthy he is nearly unstoppable on offense, and extremely capable on defense. He is an all-world talent that makes any team a title contender. There’s no reason to expect Durant not to come back completely healthy, and the Nets have the luxury of signing another star to rely on while Durant is out.

The pairing of Durant with any player on this list, along with the talented role players Brooklyn has, would make the Nets an immediate contender in the East, and a threat to win the championship for the next few years.

While Brooklyn will likely go after Durant and Irving, they can’t go wrong with any of these two. Durant and a second option make the team potential favorites, but any two of these guys would be enough to vault them to the next level next season.
