NBA Trade Rumors: The Houston Rockets made it evident that everyone except James Harden is on the trading block, and that means Chris Paul could be in a new jersey next year
Chris Paul getting traded is intriguing for sure, but his contract is something that may draw possible suitors away. His contract has three years, $124 million remaining, and at age 34, I am not sure how much teams would be willing to trade for the veteran point guard.
However, there are plenty of teams that could use a point guard with his experience. Some trades ideas here are less realistic, but the teams listed could use him. Some of the teams that could use him are: Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies, a 3-team Chicago-Phoenix-Houston trade, Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and New Orleans Pelicans.
For Orlando’s ‘Magic’ deal
Adding Fournier and Augustin would bolster the depth and shooting around James Harden, and would also add a young piece from this year’s draft for the Rockets. Mozgov has to be included in this deal for the money to work, but if Houston wants off Chris Paul, they may have to bite the bullet on taking on a big contract.
For the Magic, they have a veteran that could possibly groom Markelle Fultz into what he was imagined to be, his addition would also better the Magic’s roster, and help push the needle in what soon will be a tough Eastern Conference.
