Six players that landed in the best possible spot during the 2019 NBA Draft
The NBA Draft is a funny thing. We study mock drafts, scouting reports and pretty much anything we can get our hands on all season long, in hopes of matching the ideal prospect to our favorite team and their respective needs. I’m as guilty of this practice as anyone.
We often spend countless hours watching these prospects, whether it be in college games or in cut-up Youtube highlight videos, and yet, in any given year, a small percentage of those drafted players turn out to be real difference-makers for the team that drafted them.
But, that caveat aside, it’s always fun to take a look at the immediate aftermath of the draft, when every fanbase is beaming with hope and basking in the afterglow of the instant gratification only draft night can provide.
With that said, some teams obviously did better than others last night and some players landed in spots more conducive to their immediate success. I’m going to go over some of my favorite picks from last night, and why I think these specific pairings will help both the team and the player succeed.
