NBA: One way each team can improve next season
Miami Heat – Stop overpaying
Like the Bucks, the Miami Heat have a good amount of not so good contracts under their belt. Unlike Milwaukee however, the Heat have the second least cap room and are barely a playoff team.
They have two star players worth the money in Hassan Whiteside (who is still arguably overpaid) and Goran Dragic but aside from that, there is $61 million going to a combination of role players who are all a good tier down from the two top options. That total is not including the partially guaranteed $21 million on recently acquired Ryan Anderson’s contract.
Miami has to dump these overpaid players and hopefully find someone who will take on some of the contracts these average joes have with them. It’s a rather unlikely situation but the Heat have to try if they are to get out of this post-Dwyane Wade days slump.
