Brooklyn Nets – Sign and develop

The Nets are in one of the better situations of the league with a copious amount of cap space to sign whomever they’d like along with a young and thriving team way ahead of schedule. Brooklyn is the frontrunner to sign Kyrie Irving as previously mentioned, and other reports of young stud Julius Randle having interest with the team have been coming in as well.

The Nets already have All-Star point guard D’Angelo Russell who is younger than Kyrie with a lot of potentials. However, at the present time, Irving is a better player than Russell and if he agrees to come to the Nets there’s a lot of doubt that the Nets will hold onto D’Angelo as he is a restricted free agent this summer.

Russell has proven to be a great fit for the Nets and he and Randle have already played together during their days on the Los Angeles Lakers so signing Kyrie Irving, who has already shown in Boston that he may not be the best choice for a teams centerpiece, might be a risk that could end up hurting the Nets more than if they just kept Russell. Regardless of who they decide to take, every option is a talented one nonetheless.

With that said the Nets also have a lineup of rising stars such as Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and Spencer Dinwiddie. With the core of the future and the cap room to acquire the big time free agents, the Nets just have to make the right moves and continue developing their players in order to achieve greatness.
