Denver Nuggets – Keep that same energy

It was a season of miraculous success for the Mile High City. The Denver Nuggets surprised the whole league by taking the 2 seed in the West after a disappointing season last year just barely missing the playoffs. It seemed as though the entire team was on point on both sides of the court.

Nikola Jokic, a top-5 center in the league, routed his Nugs to 54 wins last season. The Nuggets have more talent coming in next year when rookie Michael Porter Jr. finally hits the floor after missing a year due to injury. The Nuggets also drafted Oregon center Bol Bol in the second round of this year’s draft which was arguably the biggest steal of the night.

Even with all their success and upside, there’s still a lot of speculation that the Nuggets had a fluke season and will not repeat the same success. An argument could be made that the year was just a one-year-wonder and Denver will soon decline back to its normal rate of play. If the Nuggets want to keep their pace as an outbursting franchise they’ll have to maintain the level of play they showed off the year prior.
