The second move I would look to make for Houston would be to improve their defense, depth, and court spacing in one under-the-radar acquisition. In Mike D’Antoni‘s system, a player like Knicks’ big man Luke Kornet could be a very valuable piece for the Rockets.
Kornet is a rare player that is a big man that is a excellent long range shooter and a good rim protector. He adds versatility on the defensive end and is a ideal stretch big man due to his shooting touch in today’s NBA.
Pick and Rolls with Harden and Kornet could be a lethal combination in the D’Antoni system. By trading a second-round pick, the Rockets could probably get their hands on Kornet from New York.
