In addition to landing a Jimmy Butler, there are a few other names that I believe fit well in Houston and the Rockets would be wise to pursue.
Stretch Big Nikola Mirotic is a perfect fit for playing with James Harden and spreading the floor in the Mike D’Antoni‘s offensive system, though could end up being too costly for the Rockets if they land Butler.
Dewayne Dedmon is an excellent defensive bigman who has added a 3-point shot to his game in the past two seasons in Atlana. Dedmon would be a great piece for Houston for his versatility and could play big in a playoff series.
Lastly, bringing back Trevor Ariza would be a win in the locker room and a win on the basketball court for the Rockets. Ariza had over five great seasons in Houston over the course of his career. Signing Ariza also adds familiarity and chemistry playing with much of the roster already in Houston currently. Ariza would bring Houston excellent depth and a two-way contributor.
