Hire an elite defensive coordinator

The last major move that I believe Houston has to make is in improving their defense. The one way they could do that is by signing and acquiring more talented defensive players and I would say in this Rockets’ offseason script that was addressed by acquiring Jrue Holiday, Robert Covington, Jimmy Butler, Trevor Ariza and Dewayne Dedmon.

Another way that the defense can be concentrated on is by adding great defensive minds to the coaching staff.

While some might argue it might be in the Rockets’ best interest to move on from Mike D’Antoni, I disagree.

D’Antoni has taken rosters that aren’t as talented as they appear and has put these players into great offensive systems that showcase the best of the players whom in return get exposed in playoff play when the opponents get to game-plan for against these overachieving players.

My plan for Houston would be to go out and sign a defensive-minded coach like Tom Thibodeau, a true defensive mastermind that would help elevate this team to the next level.
