NBA Twitter reactions from the first full day of Free Agency; and this is only the beginning

Not now. Never.

Especially in today’s free agency where, entering day 2, we’ve had already caused massive changes, making the NBA landscape unrecognizable. And during times like this, there’s no better place to be in than the NBA Twitter.

Below is a round-up of how the NBA world reacted in the midst of signing left and right and anxiously refreshing Twitter timeline for any new Woj bombs:

NBA Twitter Rule #404: Always, always root for IT

It’s like written on NBA Twitter handbook. Isaiah Thomas, who just signed a one-year deal with the Washington Wizards, received mad love from Twitter followers who root for his comeback. With this new and beautiful opportunity as the primary PG, we might be able to see the classic Thomas who can bust any of your favorite PG’s ass. You just can’t help to want it for him. You know it. Wade and Jamal know it, too.

NBA player/Twitter user/Recruiter

Every second counts – be it during a basketball game or free agency. And that’s what made Moe Harkless go to Twitter the moment he secured a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. There’s no farewell message reflecting how thankful he was for the Portland Trail Blazers‘ magnificent run last season, but there were a few retweets on people’s shoutout for him. And then he asked the important and obviously the right question. Immediately.

LeBron James, Magic Johnson, and Rob Pelinka sure have it.

Meanwhile, Andrew Bogut was trying to lure Andre Iguodala, who was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies and were rumored to work out a buyout and go to the Los Angeles Lakers, to play with him for Sydney Kings instead. His pitch? Tech capital of Australia, bookstores, and golf membership.

New bromances in the air

It’s not your favorite bromance, it’s free agency. This is breakup SZN too of some of the beloved duos and trios, paving the way for the rise of new brotherhoods to follow.

Robin Lopez, for instance, joins his twin brother Brook in Milwaukee Bucks. It’s been 11 years since they starred at Stanford in 2008, and with this chance to play as teammates again, Robin just tweeted a GIF.

That’s it. That’s the tweet.  Also, Bucks, please Antetokounmpo brothers, too?

On the other hand, Brooklyn Nets just accelerated their rebuilding stage to being one of the NBA contenders by signing two of the biggest free agents this year – Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Since it might take a year before seeing these two in action due to KD’s injury, fans can indulge themselves to see how these two can influence each other on their own truths, philosophical views, mind-boggling Instagram captions, and maybe even meditation apps.

More plot twists and major changes coming as Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard is still set to make a decision on which franchise he’s going to play for next. Toronto may have given Kawhi the city’s key during the championship parade. But, the Fun Guy is facing a bigger world now, as he holds the key to the NBA that would dictate how this free agency bonanza will end in the remaining days.

Whatever what the outcome would be and how chaotic NBA Twitter is right now, everyone would agree with Larry Nance Jr.

NBA Free Agency isn’t even two days old yet, and we’ve already seen plenty of movement. And, perhaps, the biggest shoe hasn’t even dropped yet.

You can only imagine the type of hysteria that will take place on the Twittersphere when Kawhi Leonard announces his decision – hopefully – soon.
