NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring five teams who should target Andre Iguodala in the trade market

For any championship team in the NBA, while the core stars are important, there are always a handful of role players that end up playing key roles. And there might not be a player most notable for playing that role, mostly due to recency bias, than Andre Iguodala.

Iguodala played that role so well for the Golden State Warriors that he even came away with an NBA Finals MVP award in 2015. He’s the type of player that may not seem important when it comes to the stat sheet but proves to be invaluable when you watch the tape.

However, after finalizing a sign-and-trade in which the Warriors acquired D’Angelo Russell for Kevin Durant (from the Brooklyn Nets) they had to trade Iguodala to make it all work financially.

Now with the Memphis Grizzlies, it appears that Iggy is now on the trade block. Memphis, reportedly, won’t buy him out of his contract and will shop him ahead of the start of the season. Which is actually the smart move, considering just how valuable a player Iguodala is on the open market.
