The Orlando Magic are an interesting team to keep an eye on. They have some solid young pieces that they could use as assets and have a real need at the point guard position.

Instead of holding out (perhaps) false hope that Markelle Fultz will eventually blossom into the stud that many expected him to become out of college, the Magic could be proactive and add Russell Westbrook via trade.

Plus, there’s the other factor that the Magic aren’t exactly a destination spot for big-name free agents. Adding Westbrook would essentially be that. If they could acquire him, he’d create an intriguing duo alongside Nikola Vucevic.

While his contract could present somewhat of a problem for many teams trying to get in on the Russell Westbrook sweepstakes, there’s no question that there will be a market for the former NBA MVP in the event that he is placed on the NBA trade block.
