Hornets letting Kemba walk, then signing Rozier to an insane deal

Heading into the summer, many expected for the Charlotte Hornets to re-sign Kemba Walker or, at the very least, offer him the max extension in order to do their part in retaining him. However, according to reports, the Hornets lowballed Kemba to the point where he didn’t even consider returning to Charlotte.

To top that curious start to the summer, the Hornets went forward with giving Terry Rozier a three-year, $58 million contract to serve as Kemba’s replacement. Mind you, this is a player that hasn’t started a full season and is most known for performing well in just a handful of games during the 2017-18 season.

Again, curious would be a kind term when talking about the Hornets moves during the offseason thus far.
