Jimmy Butler leaving the Sixers

When it was announced that Jimmy Butler would be taking free-agency meetings with the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, many assumed that it was a bargaining ploy in order for him to get the max offer from the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the end, Jimmy didn’t take another meeting after his first visit with the Heat. Pat Riley and company sealed the deal and later finalized a sign-and-trade with the Sixers to acquire the rights to Jimmy.

However, many will say this is a curious move on the part of Jimmy. Why would he want to leave the Sixers, assuming the money was better in Philly? In the end, Jimmy probably just wanted to be in Miami. To many, though, especially considering that the Sixers will be one of the favorites to come out of the East next season, it will be a tough concept to grasp.
