Kings re-sign Barnes

The Sacramento Kings re-signed Harrison Barnes to a four-year, $85 million this summer. And while Barnes has been a solid contributor for the Kings, there’s no question that he’s not worth this type of money anymore.

But, because the Kings are the Kings they have to re-sign the players that are willing to re-sign. Sacramento isn’t a destination spot, and this is a franchise that is on the rise. So while it does make sense to keep this core together, this is still a curious move.

The Kings had a great year. Even though they didn’t make the playoffs, there was certain improvement from the franchise. The Kings will be contending for the playoffs this season, but it wouldn’t be an offseason without them making somewhat of a curious signing.
