4. Los Angeles Lakers

Don’t you have to consider the NBA offseason a success, just by the mere fact the Lakers don’t have to hear from LaVar Ball anymore? The Lakers gutted their roster in hopes of acquiring both Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard. They got the former but struck out on the latter.

Davis, LeBron James, and Kyle Kuzma alone give the Lakers a fighting chance at making the playoffs.  After Kawhi spurned the Lakers for the Clippers, the Lakers hit the bargain bins and found some steals. The biggest chance they took was signing DeMarcus Cousins.

If he can come even close to the type of player he was in New Orleans or Sacramento, this could be the steal of the offseason. Adding Danny Green and Avery Bradley give the Lakers two very good defensive players and two very good shooters as well.

The Lakers surrounded Davis and LeBron with a plethora of shooters in Bradley, Green, Quinn Cook, Troy Daniels, Jared Dudley, and resigning Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Re-signing JaVale McGee was extremely important as insurance for if Cousins does not bounce back from his multitude of injuries.
