Washington Wizards

Key additions: Rui Hachimura

Key subtractions: Trevor Ariza, Jabari Parker

Heading into the offseason, the Washington Wizards weren’t really in a position where they could make a ton of moves to improve the roster. They’re kind of stuck. And the only way for this team to really improve is internally, now with Rui Hachimura.

The hope is that John Wall continues to recover and returns next season. This year, Washington has to be crossing its fingers that Beal elects to re-sign to a supermax. That’s not a foregone conclusion and in the event that he declines it, then it really gets interesting.

The Wizards will likely lose a ton of games this season, and they likely can’t move the Wall contract. Washington is in a difficult spot, and I’m not sure there’s a “right” way forward for this team at the moment.
