Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns headed into the summer – specifically, the draft – with a chance to address their point guard position. Instead, they emerged with Cameron Johnson, a hit-or-miss sharpshooting wing. On top of that, they decided to throw money at Ricky Rubio instead of a player like D’Angelo Russell or Terry Rozier.
In the end, the Suns are operating as if they don’t have a clear direction. That could – or should – be a problem for a player like Devin Booker. Even though they gave him the max extension just last summer, it wouldn’t be all that stunning to see Booker begin to get a bit uneasy and inpatient.
Booker is probably remaining in Phoenix for the foreseeable future and even if he eventually demands a trade, it seems to be a few years out. Nevertheless, Booker is a name to watch if they continue to live near the bottom of the Western Conference.
