Steven Adams, OKC Thunder

The Thunder’s fire-sale continues.

Steven Adams, the last main piece from the old Thunder’s era is most likely going to be shipped out at some point this season. He just doesn’t fit the rebuilding timeline that the Thunder are currently undergoing.

Yet Steven Adams is still an arguably a top 10 center in the league, who can be acquired for not too much. First of all, he’s still only 26. Adams is on a reasonable contract for what he does. He rim runs and plays defense. Nothing too flashy about his game, yet he is still pretty valuable in today’s league.

I’m surprised that not too many teams are calling the Thunder about his availability as it shouldn’t cost them too much. Maybe a first and a filler contract at most. The Thunder just want to tank, so I don’t think they’ll place a super high asking price on Adams.

I can see teams like the Kings, Clippers or the Hawks going after him as none of them have a great starting center at the moment. The Kings and Hawks especially are teams that I like the fit. They both have floor spacing 4’s and premier point guards, so Adams paint presence and rim running would fit pretty well with them.
