4. Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers

The reigning NBA Finals MVP and 3-time All-Star put together a marvelous 2018 season for the Toronto Raptors. Leonard led the Raptors to the 2019 NBA Finals, where they defeated the two-time defending champions, the Golden State Warriors, in six games.

After wanting out of San Antonio, Leonard was able to put together a strong regular season and postseason.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 points during the regular season, but stepped up his game significantly in the playoffs. The 2-time Finals MVP averaged 30.8 pts, 9.1 rebs, and 3.9 assists during the playoffs. His stellar performances put the league on notice and solidified Leonard’s return after a gruesome injury during the 2017-2018 season sidelined him for 73 games.

Leonard, now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers along with Paul George, firmly pushes the team into title contention due to both players being arguably the best two-way players in the league. He also has been surrounded with another defensive talent, including Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley and power forward Montrezl Harrell.

However, Leonard clearly reigns as the best player on the Clippers, and barring injury, he most certainly will be a factor in the MVP voting.
