Chris Paul – Oklahoma City Thunder

Father Time comes from everyone, and if you’re an undersized point guard, he will historically come for you without warning. This was eventually going to happen to Chris Paul, but after the Rockets were a game away from making the NBA finals in the 2018 playoffs, it felt like he had more time.

Paul’s four-year deal worth 159 million is a monster number for a player with his age and depleting talents. Couple that with his injury history (he hasn’t played more than 61 games in any of the past three years), and you get one of the most immovable players in the league. The Rockets had to attach 2 first round picks to get him off the books and Thunder have found trading him to be a near impossible task.

Paul is a future Hall of Famer, no doubt, so it’s a shame to watch the last few years of his career end this way. The bright side for Paul though, is that he’s going to make a very nice sum of money for a player at the end of his career.
