Ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season, we rank the top 10 big men in the NBA today
Big men have become a lost art in this generation of the NBA. With small ball 4s and 5s making more of an impact, the days of big men dominating the league in the traditional way and leading their teams to a championship seem to be long gone.
On the other side, the NBA continues to grow and develop and we see that with this generation of NBA bigs. Whether it’s being able to stretch the floor or take defenders off the dribble, the bigs of today are asked to do it all and therefore have the skill-set to do it all.
But who are the handful of big men in the NBA today that stand taller than the rest? Which bigs have the ability to hit the 3, take their defender off-the-dribble effectively and still protect the rim with the best of them.
Before we get into the top 10 list, there are a couple of footnotes. First, players that missed substantial time due to injury last season will be ineligible, such as DeMarcus Cousins and Kristaps Porzingis, along with small ball wing players.
Lastly, any rookies will be ineligible to make this list considering there will be a swift learning curve. Without further ado, here are the 10 best big men heading into the 2019-20 season.
