2018-19 stats: 25.6 ppg, 5.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds

Kemba Walker decided to sign with the Boston Celtics this offseason, after spending the previous six seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. The playoffs continued to seem like a longshot for Charlotte, so I can understand why Walker wanted to leave for a new opportunity at making the postseason with Boston.

Last season, Kemba set career highs in points per game and rebounds per game. With Kyrie Irving and Al Horford both joining other teams in free agency, the Celtics will now plan to build around their new franchise point guard in Walker. Like Conley, he is slightly undersized at 6-foot-1 but it doesn’t affect him crossing over oppositions or finding lanes to the hoop.

He is a very good athlete who has elite quickness with the ball in his hands. His IQ for the game is extremely high as he seems to always know when to try and score himself, or dish it off to a teammate for a higher percentage look.

Walker is a shoot-first PG for the most part though, attempting 8.9 3’s last season for a 36 percent clip. Despite that, he has hit shots at the most crucial times possible. Now that he begins a new chapter of his career, it’s going to be exciting to watch him take over in Boston alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
