24. Memphis Grizzlies
You could basically copy the description I wrote for the Cavs, switch the names, and paste it here. I think both teams are building a similar blueprint. Both will have a young, fun, potential superstar at point guard and will need to figure out what goes around them.
The reason I have the Memphis Grizzles one spot higher is that they already have Jaren Jackson Jr. in place. The fit of Ja Morant and Jackson should be a really good one because of Jackson’s skill on the offensive end. If both live up to their high potential, the Grizzlies could begin building something really special.
23. Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls have some great young pieces in Lauri Markkanen, Zach LaVine, Wendell Carter, and Coby White. They are going to be a team that needs time but each of those young players is going to get plenty of chances to grow and learn from some mistakes over the next couple years. The problem for the Bulls is up in the front office. Gar Forman and John Paxson have always had a habit of not getting this team to their full potential.
As long as those two are pulling the strings, it’s hard for me to put them very high on this list. That being said, if they can show that they are a promising young team, I’d expect the Bulls to become a player in free agency over the next couple years to see if they can land one of the big-name players. The Bulls need to be looking at the Nets model and trying to duplicate that with their young core.
