Taking a closer look at five teams that are facing the most pressure heading into the 2019-20 NBA season

It is usually a travesty when a team with high expectations fails to meet them at the end of their season because of underwhelming performances, unfortunate injuries, or the opposition playing at a high level.

Last year, we saw the incredibly disappointing performances of the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets in the playoffs – the two teams that entered into the 2018-19 season receiving massive amounts of credence to supplant the perennial NBA Finals participants, Golden State Warriors.

Fast-forward to what we know now, we can’t ignore the facts and hope that something can change those facts. There are numerous amount of teams entering this upcoming season with many expectations or some sort of pressure to succeed in some way. Even on a lower level, there have been many players to fail expectations or crack under pressure.

Although there are no more “super teams” in this year’s upcoming NBA season, the balance of power puts a spotlight onto emerging stars. Young stars who are the focal points of their teams are thrust into the position of high expections – massive amounts of pressure on their shoulders now.

What are the five teams facing the most pressure this upcoming season? The majority of responses will be directed to the teams out Los Angeles or to the reconciliation in Houston. Very cliche of a response.

There are actually five teams that face more internal pressure to get it right this season. The 2020 free agency is already stale, the result of how some teams fare with the pressure augments the trade market which then in turn can change the course of the NBA.
