Orlando Magic

Can they recreate the magic from last season, and make it back-to-back playoff appearances?

The Orlando Magic surprised the masses in the NBA and were one of the best stories in the NBA last season, making the playoffs for the first time since the days that Dwight Howard donned a Magic jersey. Even though they lost in five games to the Raptors in the first round of the playoffs, the 2018-19 season was a huge success for the Magic.

And after acquiring Markelle Fultz from the Sixers at the NBA Trade Deadline and re-signing Nikola Vucevic in free agency, the Magic are set up to pick up where they left off last season. The big question for Orlando is whether they can make it back-to-back playoff appearances after a six-year playoff hiatus.

Which won’t be an easy thing to pull off. The Eastern Conference may have gotten worse at the top, but a few teams in the middle of the pack really improved – such as the Heat, Celtics, and Nets. If the Magic don’t play their cards right, there’s a good chance they could take a step back this season and miss the playoffs.
