Phoenix Suns
Can one of their young players emerge next to Devin Booker?
The Phoenix Suns have one of the brightest young players in the game today in Devin Booker. While there may be a debate whether he’s a superstar in the making, there’s no debate about his talent. Booker is an elite scorer, if nothing else, and has been the best player on the team for the past two seasons. However, he hasn’t had a ton of help. Which has resulted in the team being one of the worst teams in the Western Conference every year since he was drafted.
However, if the Suns want to change that they’re going to need one of their other young players to step up next to Devin Booker. That could either mean Deandre Ayton or Kelly Oubre Jr. taking the next step or even their newly drafted rookie Cameron Johnson taking a bigger role than expected on the team this season.
Booker can’t love all the losing and has to be suffering from some fatigue when it comes to it. If the Suns can’t figure out how to improve sooner rather than later, they could have a growing problem on their hands. Remember, this is a players-driven league and we are living in an era where they have all the power.
