Sacramento Kings
Do they have enough to navigate through the West and make the playoffs?
The Sacramento Kings were another one of the best feel-good stories in the NBA last season, but sputter late in the year and failed to make the playoffs in the Western Conference. However, it could be difficult for them to break through in the West this season considering all the player movement that took place this summer.
The Kings re-signed Harrison Barnes, which was great but cut ties with Willie Cauley-Stein (who made the move to Golden State). They certainly lost some depth on their roster, and it could hurt as the team hopes to make a real playoff push this season.
Nevertheless, this season will likely come down to the continued development of De’Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley, and Buddy Hield. If the Kings are going to make the playoffs, it will be behind their young trio. With that said, there’s no guarantee that this team has enough to transform into a serious threat in the Western Conference this season.
