What’s next for Andrew Wiggins?
Many people have already given up on Andrew Wiggins, labeling him as an underachiever, a disappointment or even a bust.
And then there are those still holding out hope for Wiggins to revive his career and get back on the track to stardom. I happen to be one of those people (yes, despite everything I have written in this article) but even I would admit that this upcoming season is a make-or-break year for Andrew Wiggins.
After being labeled as one of the best young teams in the league with an extremely bright future just a couple of years ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves now find themselves facing a very unclear and questionable future.
They have a budding superstar in Karl-Anthony Towns but in the emerging superstar duo era of the NBA, he won’t be able to carry the TWolves alone.
Therefore, the future of this franchise now rests solely on the slender shoulders of Maple Jordan himself.
Maybe Wiggins can come back motivated and re-energized with a new-found love for the game and a hunger to prove the doubters wrong. If that’s the case, we could see a new and improved version of Wiggins that puts forth his best season to date.
On the other hand, we could just be in store to witness more of the same. Inefficient, a one-dimensional play that fails to resemble the borderline all-star showing we were witness to in 2017 (apart from when he faces OKC of course because, for whatever reason, Wiggins always lights up the Thunder).
