NBA: 5 players ready to make the jump to stardom in 2019-20
Exploring five young players that seem primed to make the jump to stardom heading into the 2019-20 NBA season
At the start of every season, analysts all across the league give their two cents on who they believe will take their place among the league’s best. While some predictions are proven true, there are other times where a once unknown late-round pick blossoms into a star right before our very eyes.
That was Most Improved Player Pascal Siakam last year. Siakam had the year of his career in 2019, and now its time to see who will be next in line for a jump into NBA stardom.
Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat
At only 21 years old, Bam Adebayo has already gained the Heat’s approval for the starting center position. Bam is a savior to the Miami Heat financially speaking. His potential and talent gave the Heat the leeway and ability to trade Hassan Whiteside away freeing saving them $20 million.
Bam is a cheaper and younger star center and the future for Miami. His stats may not be all that impressive but he is an explosive young stud who can really get his team pumped up with some of the plays he’s capable of. Adebayo has the energy to do better each season and with All-Star Jimmy Butler, another player known for his aggression on the court, coming to South Beach it isn’t outlandish to say these two will mesh very well together.
In my opinion, Bam Adebayo is the most likely to break out this season just simply because of his playstyle and opportunity the Heat are giving him.
