2. Houston Rockets

The Rockets are a polarizing team because of the way James Harden plays isolation basketball. Some people are awe of his scoring ability and appreciate the level of greatness, others have a tough time watching him launch stepback three after stepback three. Nonetheless, the Rockets are always one of the best teams in the league and peak even more interest this season with the addition of Russell Westbrook.

The team will now feature two of the last three league MVPs, the only team in the league to be able to say that. With Westbrook now in the fold the Rockets should be able to play much faster.

Seeing how Harden and Westbrook’s games mesh at this point in their careers in the hopes of winning a championship is one of the most appealing storylines of the upcoming season.

1. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to make a postseason appearance for the first time since 2012. That should be a feasible goal considering the team posses arguably two of the top five to six players in the world.

The Lakers were already a team that garnered attention because of the history of the franchise, but when you have LeBron James and Anthony Davis you become must-see TV. LeBron and Davis potentially could be the best perimeter player and big man combo we’ve seen since Shaq and Kobe (no, I’m not comparing them).

The combination of talent speaks for itself. LeBron finally gets the all-star help he’s been looking for and Davis gets the veteran star that can teach him how to win in a way he’s never had in New Orleans. You won’t want to miss those two running the fastbreak together.
