Final thoughts
No matter how the rest of James Harden’s career unfolds, he has already all but cemented himself as an NBA legend. He’s one of the best, most unique scorers and offensive weapons we’ve ever seen with an unstoppable isolation game and an unguardable go-to move.
He’s a perennial MVP candidate, all-star and all-NBA player who seems to always have his Rockets in the thick of the title race out West.
Harden is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best players of this generation, but if he wants to be remembered in the same breath as guys like Kobe, D-Wade, Larry Legend and LeBron, he’s going to have to show up for his team when it matters the most.
At the moment, regular-season Harden is one of the 10-15 best players ever. Playoff-Harden becomes just another great player. If playoff-Harden can match his regular-season self – and maybe win a chip or two – he could easily go down as the third-best shooting guard in history.
