Sacramento Kings: 37.5 (-120) – Over

The Sacramento Kings won 39 games last year and were right on the doorstep for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Buddy Hield was even so confident they’d make it that he was willing to bet his house on it. I’m not sure if he ever found someone willing to take that bet, but if he did, I’d like to change my pick here. Wouldn’t want to bet on the Kings if Hield is homeless, you know?

The logic for taking the over for the Kings is pretty simple, though. They won 39 games a year ago and bring back their entire young core. It’s hard not to like their roster from top to bottom. Hield, De’Aaron Fox, Bogdan Bogdanovich, Marvin Bagley, Harry Giles, Harrison Barnes, the list goes on and on.

Granted, the Western Conference will be even tougher this year after a wild NBA offseason, but I’m counting on their young players taking a big step forward and think they exceed their projection of 37.5 wins pretty comfortably. Like I said, the logic is pretty simple, but sometimes the simple answer is the right one. Don’t overthink it, hammer the over, folks.
