Coby White, Chicago Bulls

The fast-paced combo guard out of North Carolina was selected seventh overall by the Chicago Bulls. Coby White has exceedingly surpassed previous expectations throughout his first week in the preseason.

The 6-foot-5 guard was originally selected by Chicago to eventually become the point guard of the future. The franchise has been desperately searching for their franchise point guard since Derrick Rose’s fall from grace.

This should excite Bulls fans.

As the Bulls wait for White to fully develop and assume his future role, they selected him in large regard due to his immediate impact. That being, his transition offense – for a team that ranked 20th in pace – and playmaking prowess in the open court.

After three preseason games, he has proven to be more than that. White currently averages 16.3 points, while gathering 4.3 rebounds a game, and shooting 35.3 percent from 3. His supreme confidences have enabled him to put on some pretty impressive performances early on.

This kid is a hooper and has the ability to score in all three facets of the game. On Friday, he put up a stat line of 24 points and eight rebounds, while showing his flashy quickness and shooting touch beyond the arc.

Only one top 20 picks is averaging more points than Coby White In the preseason and that is the No. 1 overall pick, Zion Williamson (more on him later).

Coming into this season, White will play in a reserve role for Chicago, in hopes that he provides instant offense off the bench with his flashy, quick play.

White is progressing at an extremely fast rate and will look to further his succes in the regular season. The sky is the limit for young Coby.
