Updating the best projected available NBA free agents set to hit the market during the summer of 2020
Before we get to the 2021 offseason, the free agency pool that many teams around the league are salivating at, we must get through the 2020 offseason. While it may not be as publicized and commercialized as 2021, there are still plenty of names that could help move the needle for a franchise or two.
However, recently, it lost one of its biggest names, as Kyle Lowry agreed to a contract extension with the Toronto Raptors a few days ago. Lowry was projected to be on the top 5 best free agents in the 2020 class and the top point guard in the market.
Now that Lowry is off the board, what is left in the (somewhat underwhelming) free agency class of 2020? We will explore just that. Though, to do so, we will break the class up in tiers. To make things easier, there will be five tiers with a handful of players in each grouping.
We will work in reverse order, thus beginning with tier 5 and working our way up to the best possible free agents. Eligible free agents are players that are both unrestricted and restricted, plus ones with player options (that will likely opt out of).
Without further ado, let’s get an updated look at the best free agents that are expected to be available during the summer of 2020.
