Which former – and current – Boston Celtics point guard will have the best season in 2019-20?
Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving, Terry Rozier, and Isaiah Thomas – four players with a lot in common. All four have – or will – play point guard for the Boston Celtics; all four are starting over with new teams in 2019-20, and all four come into the season with something to prove.
Walker is, of course, the current point guard for the Celtics, signing a free-agent deal this summer to replace Irving, who walked after two years in Green to join division rival, the Brooklyn Nets.
Rozier – the backup to Irving who got a chance to shine in the Celtics 2018 playoff run when Irving went down – signed with the Charlotte Hornets to replace Walker. And Thomas, who led the Celtics for three seasons before he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Irving in 2017, found a home as John Wall’s replacement at point guard for the Washington Wizards.
Each one of these players is off to a new start in 2019-2020 and each has a lot to prove with their new teams.
