Ranking the 10 legit contenders heading into the 2019-20 NBA season

The NBA regular season is officially here. Entering this new season of basketball, there appears to be a breath of fresh air circulating around the league.

The era of super teams has come to an end as we transition into a new era of dynamic duos. NBA stars have been relocated all around the league to their new teams, ultimately, creating more balance and leaving the championship up for grabs for a myriad of franchises.

The 2019-20 season will be one of the most interesting, competitive seasons that we’ve witnessed in years. With this list, we’ll rank the top 10 teams that have a chance at contending for the Larry O’Brien championship trophy this upcoming season.

Honorable Mention: Toronto Raptors

I know that it’s strange not to rank the defending NBA champs on a contender list the following season, but with Kawhi Leonard signing with the LA Clippers, Toronto lost their only championship-caliber player. Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry will carry this team into the playoffs, along with their multitude of role players. However, they don’t possess the necessary talent to contend for a championship.
