Western Conference Playoff Race

The top six spots in the Western Conference playoffs seem to be reserved for the Lakers, Clippers, Rockets, Blazers, Jazz, and Nuggets. The race for the final two spots could prove to be a wild race.

The favorites would seem to be the five-time defending Western Conference Champion Warriors and the Spurs, who have made the playoffs for an NBA record 22 straight seasons. The Pelicans, Thunder, Kings, and Mavericks, however, should factor into the race for those final two spots.

How will Zion Williamson’s injury impact the Pelican’s chances, will the Thunder have a fire sale that dashes their playoff hopes, how will the contract negotiations with Buddy Hield impact the King’s playoff chances and will Kristaps Porzingis stay healthy enough to help lead the Mavericks back to the playoffs.
