The Phoenix Suns are the surprise team of league this year
Let’s end on a positive note, shall we!?
The Suns’ shocking upset win over the mighty Clippers seemed to put the rest of the league on notice.
Despite it only being the third game of the season, it felt like a statement win for the Suns. And it feels like they have finally arrived.
The front office has finally surrounded Devin Booker with enough complementary talent to make the team competitive.
Now, Booker is obviously going to be Booker but it’s the other guys who have surprised people. Rubio looks like a really good fit at point guard. Saric is the perfect stretch four who can score in a number of ways. Aaron Baynes continues to be an ultra-reliable role player, especially with Ayton now suspended for the time being and guys like Tyler Johnson and Jevon Carter have provided major lifts off the bench.
The west still might be too deep for the Suns to make it into the postseason this year but with the way they’re playing, the playoff drought will be over soon enough.
