NBA in Threes: Fighting in Philly; Arcade-style basketball in Washington

Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons were looking to extend their 3-0 record against the Toronto Raptors under head coach Dwane Casey but that just wasn’t to be. That being said, the Pistons look pretty good.
Early on it was clear from their ball movement that they have pretty good offensive chemistry. Their offensive possessions were smooth and crisp and they tied the Raptors 30 assists in the game.
Derrick Rose looks good off the bench for the Pistons. He’s so quick! He makes good decisions and his leadership when he’s on the floor is obvious. With a 16 point, 10 assist double-double off the bench he’s in a great position to be an important veteran presence for the Pistons this season.
The Pistons missed a lot of shots in the paint, 20 to be specific. In fact, the made only four more baskets in the key than they missed. Too many for a team hoping to be in the playoffs come April. Those easy under the basket shots should be bread and butter for any team.
Keeping n mind that the Pistons are still without Blake Griffin, I expect the Pistons to be jockeying for position with the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks come playoff time.
