Caris LeVert of the Brooklyn Nets. LeVert was well on his way to taking that step last season, averaging around 17 pts a game and being one of the primary offensive creators for the Nets before he suffered a dislocated foot injury that sidelined him for three months. But LeVert has since bounced back from the injury, and in a major way.

So far this season, LeVert is averaging a career-high in virtually every offensive category. He is currently averaging 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists a game. Next to Kyrie Irving, LeVert is the Nets’ best shot creator, for both himself and his teammates. And by playing with Kyrie, LeVert is finding other ways to be effective on the offensive end, spotting up in the corners and hitting a career high 37 percent of his 3-pointers.

And while Kevin Durant is sidelined this season while he rehabs from his Achilles injury, the Nets are going to need someone to step up and be that second offensive threat night in and night out alongside Kyrie. Couple that with this season being a contract year for LeVert, and he could very well be that guy to take the step towards an All-Star appearance in 2019-20. Just ask his teammates.
