Welcome to NBA in Threes where we rundown some notable happenings in the league and recent games three days at a time

NBA in Threes has been designed to be flexible in its delivery of NBA news.

  •  NBA Box Scores
    • Think of the box scores like free throws. They’re quick, easy and they give you a little sumpin’ sumpin’.
  • NBA Tidbits
    • Tidbits are your field goals inside the arc. You’re going to get a little more info and some Tweets relevant to the day. It’ll have a little more substance than the box scores.
    • NBA Game Analyses
      • Game analyses are like shots from range.
It’s still a quick read individually but it will be a better value.

        NBA Tidbits

Kistapz Porzingis sat out the Dallas Mavericks’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to, “Injury recovery, left knee.” We can all agree that this is just load-management in witness protection, right?

Cause I’m a little confused. When I went looking for a source to cite for this news, I found not too many people are talking about it. The media outlets I could find reporting this were either small, local or both.

TNT, ESPN, Doris Burke, Mark Jackson, where y’all at? Where’s your outrage, your genuine concern for the Memphis fans who paid money to see the best possible players in the game? As is often the case, I find that this silence speaks volumes.

Apparently, you all don’t have an issue with load management. You have an issue with Kawhi Leonard’s load management in certain markets, matchups, and situations. ie. large markets like LA, high profile teams and national broadcasts.

Am I saying that those things shouldn’t be causes for concern? No. What I am saying is if you’re going to complain about load management, don’t pretend you’re outraged for the fans. Because if you’re going to be outraged for some fans you need to be outraged for all of them.

Alternately, you could just say what you actually mean. You’re worried about the dolla dolla bills. And that’s fine. It’s a valid concern… I suppose. But at least own it.

•I dunno what happened to KAT over the summer, but I’m a BIG fan of KAT 2.0

•After going 6-0 on coach’s challenges to start the season, Nick Nurse deserved this celebratory moment after winning the 7th.

•The New York Knicks got washed by the Cleveland Cavaliers with a final score of 108-87. Let the overreacting begin! The latest NBA in Threes Bonus take discusses why Dolan needs to take it easy as well as why even Masai Ujiri couldn’t fix New York’s mess as long as Dolan is in charge. David Fizdale, whose job is on the line summed up the reality of the Knicks’ current situation pretty well.

•Don’t look now but the Boston Celtics have won 7 straight games after beating the Dallas Mavericks 116-106. With Gordon Hayward out with his broken hand, its good to see that the Celtics were able to put together a solid win against a really good Mavericks team. They had a little scare when Kemba Walker had to leave in the final minutes of the game, the reports indicate that he’s just fine. Phew.

•It’s probably too soon to go there… It’s definitely too soon to go there but what got into the water in Minnesota!? Both Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns both made basketball-reverence.com’s top five players list in the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ 120-114 win over the Detroit Pistons.

KAT scored 25 points on 4-7 shooting from range, pulled down eight rebounds and had six assists.

Wiggins scored 33 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond the arc, grabbed six rebounds, had six assists, one steal, and one block.
