The Golden State Warriors – From first to last

When Kevin Durant left for Brooklyn and Klay Thompson tore his ACL, Dub nation knew things looked grim. The Golden State Warriors fanbase, however, had no idea what was in store for them as the next season started.

Even without Klay and KD the Warriors were still a competitor with the capability to grab a high seed in the playoffs. That was until Stephen Curry broke his hand and was announced to be out for majority, if not all, of the 2019-20 season. Not to mention the Warriors lost almost all of their supporting cast that followed their stars to the NBA Finals last season.

Andre Iguodala was traded away, Shaun Livingston retired, and role players like Quinn Cook, Damian Jones, Alfonzo McKinnie, and the ever-injured DeMarcus Cousins, all left in free agency. Golden State tried their best to fill the holes left by acquiring Willie Cauley-Stein and D’Angelo Russell, but Russell has since recently gone down with an injury himself.

That left the W’s with Draymond Green and a bunch of no-names. The Warriors now sit at 3-12 with the worst record in the NBA. Who would’ve thought? This Golden State team was more of an unfortunate victim of injuries and unfavorable transactions rather than a disappointment. Any hopes for this team of returning to the finals for the sixth year in a row are all but completely washed away.
