Jamal Crawford should be playing for an NBA team right now. What’s the holdup? Will he play again this year?

Currently a free agent, there’s no question the three-time Sixth man of the Year, 19-year veteran Jamal “Crossover” Crawford can definitely still contribute to an NBA contender at a high level. There’s no doubt in my mind if given the opportunity he can play at a high level against some of the league’s best.

Seriously, he dropped 51 points last season while also achieving a career-high in assists (14) playing for the Phoenix Suns. At the age of 39, no less. To add to what is surely a hall of fame type of career. He also holds the all-time record for most four-point plays with 54 (59 if you include the playoffs).

If that’s not enough fellow NBA player, Blake Griffin spoke up for his fellow peer stating the following:

Even Jamal Crawford publicly addressed his stance concerning the situation saying:

"I know I can play and I would think my reputation is still solid, it’s baffling to me."

I couldn’t agree with both statements any more than your average basketball fan could, it’s completely unfathomable and has been going on for long enough now.

Now Crawford could easily sign one of those, he’s a veteran presence deals where he’d barely play and would have to take on the mentor role but it’s time to taste the promised land of winning it all.

No more sixth man, off the bench opportunities; it’s time the powerhouses of the league acknowledge the tenacity, respect the longevity and reward the first ballot hall of famer Jamal Crawford a contract. He’s earned it.

Lastly, Jamal Crawford could also explore his options overseas but let’s make another important thing clear, he’s no Jimmer Fredette. The two simply just don’t compare. To all the contenders, sign Jamal Crawford! There’s no loss in a move of such magnitude.
