Exploring five trends a month into the 2019-20 NBA season, and deciding whether they will continue or hit a dead-end

After the first month of the NBA season, there have been some surprising themes. Throughout this article, we will look at some of these events and try to determine whether or not they are trends or dead-ends.

Andrew Wiggins is actually good

Going into his sixth NBA season it seemed as though everyone had given up on Andrew Wiggins and believed he was destined to be a low-end starter. However, to start this NBA season Wiggins has looked like he’s trying to prove everybody wrong.

Wiggins is currently averaging 25.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game (all career-highs). After being left off ESPN’s top 100-ranking this off-season it appears that Wiggins took that to heart and really wants to prove that he’s not only top 100, he might even be top 25.

Wiggins may not be an all-star this season but he is definitely playing at an all-star level and if he keeps this up he will definitely be in the discussion for years to come. I personally believe that this level of play can be sustained for Wiggins and that he should be in serious contention to make the all-star team this season.
