After the first quarter of the 2019-20 NBA season, the NBA MVP race may be down to three players

The early frontrunners for the NBA MVP race this year has been nothing but refreshing to the fans. The race is likely down to three players, each of them that have proven to be very impactful for their respective teams.

Luka Doncic has shown he can play with the big boys and is proving to the doubters that he is here to stay. Luka is the face of the Dallas Mavericks and is having a career year thus far, averaging 30.8 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists per game.

Just being 10 years old, Doncic is playing like a 10-year veteran. Perhaps the one variable that separates Doncic from the rest of the competition is the fact that he’s been playing professional basketball since he was 16 years old. There’s no question that he has the DNA to be a future hall of famer once it’s said and done.

Another MVP candidate is an absolute monster that continues to raise the bar. Giannis Antetokounmpo is clearly a fan-favorite when the Bucks are on the road. Definitely, the Greek Freak is another planet when it comes to his peers around the league. The first couple of years he was a skinny young man from Athens, Greece trying to find his around the game that he loves the most.

The Milwaukee Bucks have found a diamond in the rough in Giannis who is making a strong case to capture his second NBA MVP award. With Giannis tossing up ridiculous numbers – he’s averaging 31 points, 13 rebounds and six assists per game – there’s really nothing not to like about his game. He is every bit of what you want of your young star, and he’s slowly becoming the man of the people.

Last but not least, LeBron James in his 17th season in the NBA showcasing that he still is the best player on the planet. With LeBron coming off of last season’s disappointment, after missing the playoffs for just the second time in his career, he’s right back in the thick of the NBA MVP race.

The self-proclaimed King is having another type MVP-worthy year and is averaging 26 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds per game this season. LeBron is, somehow, beating father time.
