Chris Chiozza deserves a chance

He has only played 60 minutes total with Washington, but I have seen enough to say that Chris Chiozza deserves more consistent playing time. He makes quick decisions with the ball, is active on defense, and gets into the lane to create shots for teammates.

As a 40.1 percent career 3-point shooter in the G-League, maybe he can be a solid off point guard as well. The flip side is that he one of the shortest players in the NBA and will never be able to finish inside the arc. Maybe the hope is that he’s sort of a Fred VanVleet-lite.

Even if he is a fringe NBA guy right now, I would much rather he get run over Isaiah Thomas (until his two-way contract runs out).
