NBA Trade Rumors: Jeff Teague is another name that could be on the move before this year’s trade deadline
The NBA Trade Deadline is still two months away, but there is already a growing list of veterans that could be on the move. While DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are headling the list of potential veterans that could find a new team at the trade deadline, there will likely be many others that will emerge in the coming weeks.
One name that could be on the move is Jeff Teague, according to a report from The Athletic (subscription required. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard is on an expiring deal, and will likely not be re-signed by the team. Which makes him a perfect candidate to be moved in the coming weeks.
Teague is still a valuable veteran that could help any team making a push for the playoffs trying to add some depth to their backcourt.

Teague is averaging 14 points and seven assists per game this season and should be a prime target for any team looking to bolster their team ahead of the playoff push. The big question is what the asking price will be from the Wolves.
Generally, you’d expect a first-round pick to be the starting point. Although considering that he’s an expiring contract it would be difficult to ask – especially if the team trading for Teague would be using him as a rental for the remainder of the season.
The value of acquiring Teague can’t be understated, however. He’s a veteran point guard that has experience in the playoffs. He is a piece that can be relied on and one that won’t be overwhelmed by the moment.
He could work as a starter or even a back up in the right situation, and with the Wolves at 10-15 and potentially falling out of the playoff race in the Western Conference, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pivot to being a seller in the coming weeks.
